A Green Job – Golf Course Management
from:Something you may not think about when you are planting your tees and swinging your newest golf club in hopes of scoring a good round is the golf course management company that cares for the course you’re playing. How do you think the grass stays so green or the sand stays so clean? Does the water hazard clean itself out, emptying floating leaves and other junk? Who keeps the grass mowed consistently?
A golf course management company is responsible for all of this and more in the upkeep of a golf course. Most of these companies are full service, meaning that they take care of all maintenance, marketing, and customer service for the entire golf course. For example, these companies are responsible for seeing to the actual upkeep of the course, such as cleanup of any trash, mowing of the grass, refining the sand traps, cleaning out the underbrush in trees lining the course, making sure that the holes are clear of trash, and that all ground knocked out of place during a swing is replaced and smoothed out.
However, there is even more to a golf course management company than this. A full-service company can actually care for the marketing of the golf course, often employing advertising and marketing specialists in-house for ease of securing a campaign for the course. The golf course management company can also take care of all customer service issues, making certain that equipment is up to date and in good working order, as well as assuring that there is plenty of equipment available to the customers. After all, if a golfer continually comes to a course and finds that there are no golf carts available either because the course doesn’t have enough to go around or because they are in disrepair, that customer will soon turn to another course. It is the job of the golf course management company to be sure this doesn’t happen through proper preparation and advertisement.
The best thing about securing a golf course management company is that they will often assist with both public and private golf course owners. Why is this necessary? It means that the owner doesn’t have to be directly responsible for these aspects of the course and can turn over this work to a set of experts who are well versed in making golf courses lovable for customers and desirable for anyone seeing the advertisements. For the golf course management company, it is beneficial because they can manage several properties and, through tried and true methods, can streamline the management of all of them, allowing them to profit all around.
